Frequently asked questions
Are my files really private?
100% yes. All processing happens in your browser via modern Web APIs (File System Access, fflate). Your files never reach a server. You can even disconnect from the internet after loading the page — the app keeps working.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome and Edge 86+ for optimal streaming ZIP (direct disk writes). Firefox and Safari also work with a JSZip fallback — slightly slower and capped by available RAM (~1.5 GB). No install needed in any case.
How many files can I process?
Free tier: up to 20 files. Paid: unlimited. Technically, we recommend staying under 1.5 GB total to avoid memory issues (a warning shows above that).
How much time does it save?
Renaming 1000 photos manually in Explorer: ~2 hours. With Namyfixer: 30 seconds. For photographers or e-commerce sellers handling thousands of images monthly, that's days of work saved per year.
Why pay $9/month if the tool runs locally?
The app is free under 20 files. The subscription funds ongoing development, support, hosting, the blog, and future features. No ads, no data resale — just your support.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, 14-day refund for EU customers (legal requirement). Beyond that, contact us — we're reasonable.
How is this different from Bulk Rename Utility or Adobe Bridge?
BRU is Windows-only with a complex UI. Adobe Bridge requires a Creative Cloud subscription. Namyfixer runs everywhere, needs zero install, and costs $69/year — less than one month of Creative Cloud.
What if I lose my license key?
Resend it from your account page (link in your purchase email) or contact us with your Stripe email. Keys are regenerable at will.
Does the ZIP preserve folder structure?
Yes. Drop a folder (or several), the hierarchy is preserved in the final ZIP.
